Chloe Jackson scored her second goal of the season with 3:37 remaining in the second half that led the Delta State University women's soccer team to a 1-1 tie with the Choctaws of Mississippi College Friday (Oct. 4) afternoon at Delta Field.

The Lady Statesmen trailed 1-0 for 86 minutes before a
Robyn Moody Free Kick would find the head of Jackson who would put it into the lower right corner of the net to even the score up at 1-1.

After giving up an early goal to start the game, senior goal keeper
Olivia Griffin and the Lady Statesmen defense limited the Choctaws to only 4 shots on goal for the remainder of the game.

Ava Steven blocked several shots up front while logging in 90 minutes of play on the back line for the Lady Statesmen

Griffin made an outstanding save with just over two minutes remaining in the first half to prevent a Choctaw 2-0 lead.

The Lady Statesmen (1-2-4, 0-1-3 GSC) will travel to Memphis, Tenn., Tuesday (Oct. 8) evening to face the Lady Buccaneers of Christian Brothers University. That match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. (CDT).
