JACKSON, Miss. – Senior running back Kelvin Smith will join the list of nominees for the C Spire Conerly Trophy to honor the Most Outstanding Player participating in one of the four-year college programs in the state of Mississippi.
 
The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at The Sheraton Refuge in Flowood will be the venue on December 3rd, beginning at 5:30 PM with a reception, followed by the program at 6:30 PM. CBS sportscaster Charles Davis will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
 
Smith led the Statesmen rushing attack with 736 yards on 138 carries and six touchdowns in the 2024 campaign.
 
Smith finished his career in the Green and White with 387 rushes for 2,148 yards and 22 touchdowns while catching 35 passes for 442 yards and five career touchdowns.
 
Smith will look to join the likes of 2023 winner Patrick Shegog to become first back-to-back Conerly Trophy winner in Delta State program History.
