CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State wins the series with West Florida in walk-off fashion as
Dylan Coleman sent a two-run homer to left in the eleventh inning. The Statesmen out-hit the Argos 12-10 in the series finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Argos recorded a hit, but stranded the runner in the first inning. Brendan McCauley reached on an error with one away and moved to second on a single by Dylan Coleman. Blayke Dendy then singled to score McCauley from second. 1-0 Delta State after one.
- West Florida stranded one in the second as DSU's Taylor Woodcock picked up a hit. UWF sent three to the plate in the top of the third, and Coleman picked up another hit in the bottom of the inning. UWF stranded a runner after an HBP as DSU went in order in the fourth. Each team left runners on base in the fifth, including a hit by DSU's McCauley. 1-0 Delta State after five.
- UWF plated their first run in the sixth on a leadoff home run. The Argos loaded the bases with two outs, but DSU starter Drake Fontenot picked up a strikeout to end the threat. Delta State left two on base after Dylan Dendy reached on an error and Woodcock drew a walk. Tied 1-1 after six.
- The Argos loaded the bases twice in the top of the seventh, but only plated two runs on two hits. Clay Cook drew a walk to start the bottom of the seventh. McCauley brought him around in the following at-bat with a homer over the left field wall to tie the game. Tied 3-3 after seven.
- UWF went in order in the eighth as DSU left Cook on base after a two-out hit. The Argos left two on base as DSU went in order in the ninth inning. Tied 3-3 after nine.
- Each team started the extra innings with a runner at second base. UWF bunted their runner to third in the first plate appearance and scored the runner with an RBI single. Jonathan Dewberry started at second for the Statesmen in the tenth. Cole Thompson singled to move him to third. Dewberry scored in the following at-bat, an RBI single by Braiden Jones. DSU loaded the bases with no outs after Woodcock singled, but the Statesmen could not plate the winning run. Tied 4-4 after ten.
- UWF tried to bunt their lead runner to third at the start of the eleventh, but Josh Hill was able to collect the bunt and throw to third in time to retire the runner. The Argos left two on base in the inning. McCauley started at second in the inning for DSU. Coleman sent the first pitch of his at-bat over the left field wall to win the game and the series for the Statesmen. 6-4 Delta State final.
On The Mound
- Starter Drake Fontenot pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. He struck out eight batters with two walks.
- Christian Clayson faced one batter in the seventh.
- Kameron Kock pitched 1.0 inning, allowing no runs or hits with two walks.
- Josh Hill pitched the final 4.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
