Delta State Hires Dr. Caroline George Fletcher as Coordinator of Marketing and Media Relations.

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State University Athletics has announced the hire of Dr. Caroline George Fletcher '15 as the Coordinator for Marketing and Media Relations.
 
With nearly 13 years of experience in communications and marketing, Fletcher will be responsible for marketing the department's 350 student-athletes and 13 intercollegiate athletic programs.
 
Mike Kinnison, Director of Athletics, said, "I feel Caroline will be a great addition to our Athletic Department and will make a significant impact on our media and communications content. She is smart, experienced, knows the right people in our campus and local community, and is committed to the success of our athletic programs."
 
Fletcher has served as Delta State's Digital Media Coordinator since 2016. In her role in Communications and Marketing, social media followers for the university's official accounts grew exponentially: Instagram (108.1%), Facebook (63.6%), and Twitter (32.5%). She is a six-time College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) award winner and Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) winner.
 
Prior to working in Communications and Marketing for the university, Fletcher spent three years (2013-16) as a graduate assistant and intern in Delta State's Athletic Communications department where she served as the primary contact for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, cross country, softball, and football, while assisting with swimming and diving, golf, and baseball.

Fletcher previously worked in the Sports Information office at Union University from 2010-2013. With the Bulldogs, her duties included game day operations for all 11 intercollegiate sports, including primary statistician for nine sports.
 
Fletcher earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with an emphasis in Sport Marketing from Union in 2013, a Master of Science in Sport and Human Performance with a concentration in Sport Administration from Delta State in 2015, and, most recently, a Doctor of Philosophy in Sport Management from Troy University in 2022. She is married to Jonathan Fletcher, Offensive Coordinator for Statesmen Football. They have two daughters, Harper and Palmer.
