MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Delta State University Men's Basketball team (10-10, 6-8 GSC) had three guards score in the 20s in a 93-84 win at Auburn University at Montgomery (8-11, 5-9 GSC) Thursday evening in the AUM Athletics Complex in Montgomery.

The trio of
Chris Terrell,
Kolby Horace and
Keithean Brooks eclipsed the 20-point mark as the Statesmen shot their season best 44% from beyond the arch with 11 threes. Terrell led all scorers with 27 points and three steals. Horace recorded his first double-double as a Statesmen scoring 25 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Brooks scored 21 points and had a team high three assists.

 The Statesmen and Warhawks exchanged blows in the first four minutes before an 11-0 Statesmen run behind three pointers from Brooks, Horace and
Je'Marion Westbrook had DSU ahead 18-7. Horace led all scorers with 17 points in the first half.

After two AUM free throws, DSU would pour on another 10-4 run from key threes from Terrell and
Bryce Clayton to go up 28-13 with 8:00 in the first half.

Delta State would keep the lead in double figures before AUM would bring their lead as close as seven before the half where Delta State would lead 46-37.

AUM would bring themselves within two possessions to start the second half before a 17-3 Statesmen run would pull DSU ahead to their largest lead at 63-45. Terrell would add 10 points to his total in the 17-3 run.

A Brooks three ball with 5:31 remaining would give Delta State their second largest lead at 84-67. From that point, the Warhawks would battle back within single digits. A late steal from
Chris Terrell would seal a 93-84 road victory.

The Statesmen look to extend their four-game winning streak this Saturday at Montevallo against the Falcons. Tipoff for Saturday afternoon will be approximately at 4:00 p.m., (CDT).
