MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Delta State University women's soccer team closed the regular season in dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon, defeating Auburn Montgomery 2–0 at the AUM Soccer Complex.

he Lady Statesmen wasted no time taking control, as
Casey Stalder found the back of the net just two minutes into the match to give Delta State an early 1–0 lead. Stalder continued to make an impact moments later, assisting
Kennedi Turner's goal in the 11th minute to double the advantage.
From there, the Delta State defense locked in. The back line and goalkeeper
Kim Bircher combined for a complete shutout, limiting AUM to only six total shots and just two on goal. Bircher tallied two saves in the victory, marking Delta State's seventh win of the season and sixth in GSC play.
Offensively, the Lady Statesmen peppered the net with
23 shots, including
nine on frame, maintaining pressure throughout all 90 minutes.
With the win, Delta State (7–5–4, 6–3–3 GSC) secures its place in the
GSC Postseason Tournament, as the five seed. They will go to Livingston, Ala., to take on the four-seeded Tigers from the University of West Alabama.
