CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Baseball team (6-3, 2-0 GSC) clinched a three-game series win with a double header sweep against the Flames of Lee University (5-4, 0-2 GSC) Friday afternoon in Harvey Stadium at Ferriss Field.
 
Delta State started the afternoon with a 6-0 win, following by a 3-0 win to finish the night cap.
 
GAME ONE
The Statesmen got a solid outing from senior right hander 
Drake Fontenot in the 6-0 game one win against Lee.
 
Fontenot threw seven complete innings, striking out 11 hitters to earn his second win of the season. 
Peyton Badon went 3-4 with a rbi and two stolen bases.
 
The Statesmen put two runs up on the board starting with a rbi double from 
Braiden Jones making it 1-0. On the next at-bat, Badon would bring Jones home with a single through the left side extending the lead to 2-0.
 
Delta State added three runs in the bottom of the fifth starting with back-to-back rbi singles from 
Drew Capobianco and 
Wes Warnock to make it 4-0. On the next at-bat 
Dylan Coleman reached on an error scoring 
Jacob Hill to make it 5-0.
 
In the bottom of the eighth, Jones would collect his second RBI in the game with an infield single making it 6-0.
 
GAME TWO
The Statesmen finished the double header with back-to-back shutout starts, this time 
Dylan Farley added six innings striking out six Flames earning his second win of the season. Senior 
Josh Hill earned his third save of the season with a 1-2-3 seventh innings.
 
The Statesmen scored two runs in the bottom of the second starting with back-to-back singles from 
Andin Johnson and 
Brett Burrell. Burrell drove in Johnson after reaching and advancing on an errant throw from the Lee shortstop making it 1-0.
 
After two walks, Capobianco would add on to the inning with a two-run single through the right side to make it 3-0.
 
With Lee threatening in the top of the sixth, Farley would get out of a jam with back-to-back fly outs to keep the shutout going.
 
Burrell would have a multi-hit night for the green and white going 2-3 with a stolen base.
 
The Statesmen and the Flames will finish their three-game series tomorrow afternoon in Harvey Stadium at Ferriss Field at 1:00 p.m. (CDT)
