NSD 25 Statesmen Announce Their 2025 Signing Class

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State University Football Coach Todd Cooley and his staff announced their 2025 signing class today.
 
The Statesmen get 36 signees and 22 mid-year signees who are already touched foot on campus for the spring semester.
 
Here's a Look at the 2025 Signing Class below
 
Chris Brown | Defensive Lineman | Jackson, Miss. | Copiah-Lincoln Community College
Brown will be a big addition up front for the Statesmen defensive line in the upcoming season. The JUCO Transfer from Jackson added 15 tackles with 3 TFLs in nine games played for the Wolves in the 2024 season as a freshman.
 
LaDainian Davis | Defensive Lineman | Jackson, Miss. | Copiah-Lincoln Community College
Davis is another addition to the Defensive Line from Copiah-Lincoln Community College. The Jackson native had 29 tackles, four TFLs and a sack in the 2024 season. Davis had an 11 tackle, three TFL performance in the Wolves 24-17 win against Pearl River.
 
Ahmad Thompson | Defensive Lineman | Tylertown, Miss. | East Central Community College
Thompson joins the green and white from East Central Community College. As a Warrior, Thompson played as a linebacker in 2024 where he had 25 tackles with 5.5 TFLs and a sack.  Thompson had six tackles and two TFLs in ECCC's 27-7 win against Jones.
 
Jordan McKnight | Defensive Back | Shelby, Miss. | East Mississippi Community College
McKnight joins a deep defensive backfield for Delta State from JUCO power East Mississippi. As a Lion, McKnight had 17 tackles, two PBUs and a forced fumble in Scooba.

Ryan Pascal | Offensive Lineman | Picayune, Miss. | Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
Pascal played in 15 games for the Bulldogs in two seasons. Played all 10 games for the blue and gold in 2024.  Earned Academic All-MACCC honors. As a senior in High School, Pascal led the way to Picayune's Class 5A state championship and was named to Class 5A All-State First Team.

Brandin Talley | Long Snapper | Biloxi, Miss. | Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
Talley played in 17 games in two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast. As a senior in high school, Talley had 11 catches for 119 yards and 1 TD. Talley was selected to play in the Bernard Blackwell North-South All-Star Game. Named to Class 6A All-State Second Team.
 
TJ Kelly | Linebacker| Jackson, Miss. | Hinds Community College
Kelly had 58 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and a sack in eight contests playing for the bulldogs in the 2024 season. Kelly was named MACCC South Honorable Mention as a Linebacker in the 2024 season.
 
Tyler Abel | Offensive Lineman | Winona, Miss. | Holmes Community College
Abel played nine games for the Bulldogs in the 2024 season where he helped lead the way for an offense that gained 3,668 total yards. With his efforts, Abel earned second team All-MACCC North honors in the 2024 season.
 
Alex Larry | Defensive Lineman | Greenwood, Miss. | Itawamba Community College
Larry played in six games for the Indians in the 2024 season on. In the six games, Larry had 13 tackles and two sacks as he helped lead Itawamba to a 6-3 season. Larry had six tackles and a TFL against Northwest Mississippi.
 
Harrison Knight | Wide Receiver | Foley, Ala. | Jones Community College
Knight played 18 games in two seasons for the Bobcats. During his time at Jones, Knight had 36 receptions for 489 yards and four touchdowns. As a senior in High School, Knight had 64 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns and was selected for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic.
 
Davion Alston | Running Back | Flowood, Miss. | Mississippi Delta Community College
Alston manned the backfield for the Trojans for the past two seasons in Moorhead. As a Trojan, Davion had 177 carries for 692 yards and two touchdowns. Against Itawamba, Alston had 13 carries for 108 yards.
 
Jeffrey Anderson | Defensive Lineman | Buffalo, Miss. | Southwest Mississippi Community College
Anderson played in seven games for the Bears in the 2024 season. In his 2024 campaign, Anderson had 22 tackles, four TFLs and a sack. At Wilkinson County High School, Anderson was named All Region 7 Defensive Lineman of the Year 2020-2021.
 
Anthonee Dunn | Offensive Lineman | Terry, Miss. | Southwest Mississippi Community College
Dunn joins the big men up front in the Delta from Southwest Mississippi Community College. In the 2024 season, Dunn played in eight games for the Bears and helped paved the way for an offense that averaged 324.1 yards per game.
 
Jeffrey Hobbs | Defensive Lineman | Mendenhall, Miss. | Southwest Mississippi Community College
Hobbs joins the Statesmen defensive line after playing in two seasons at Southwest Mississippi Community College. In 2024 Hobbs played eight games for the Bears where he had 19 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and two sacks.
 
Maliek Robertson | Defensive Lineman | Donaldsville, La. | Southwest Mississippi Community College
Robertson comes to the Delta after two seasons at Southwest Mississippi Community College. In 2024, Robertson played nine games on the Bears defensive line where he had 29 tackles, and 3.5 TFLs.

LeDell Finister | Offensive Lineman | New Orleans, La. | Campbell University.
Finister transfers to Delta State from the FCS level at Campbell University. Finister was on the offensive line for the Camels where he played in seven games in 2024. Finister redshirted in 2022. In high school, Finister was a first team all-region performer, received the team's captain award, helped lead Creekside High to three region championships.
 
Jamison Kelly | Defensive Back | Columbia, Miss. | Indiana University
Kelly will come back to his home state after two seasons in Bloomington playing for the Hoosiers. In the 2023 season, Kelly played in four games. Kelly had stops at Jones College and Louisiana Tech. As a High Schooler, Kelly was a consensus three-time All-State selection including a two-time first team All-State selection in his junior and senior seasons.
 
Aaron Robinson | Defensive Lineman | Rolling Fork, Miss. | Mississippi College
Robinson signed with the green and white early in December after playing in nine games for the Choctaws in their school's final football season. In the nine games, Robinson had 12 tackles, 1.5 TFLs and three QB hurries in the 2024 season.
 
Jacquez Tucker | Defensive Lineman | Calhoun City, Miss. | Mississippi College
Tucker transferred to Cleveland after playing a season for Mississippi College in 2024. As a Choctaw, Tucker tallied 10 tackles, 1.0 TFLs and two QB hurries. Tucker posted his season best performance against Delta State with three tackles, and a QB hurry.
 
Matt Rozier | Wide Receiver | Harvest, Ala.| Chattanooga
Rozier joins the Delta State receiver room after spending two seasons on the FCS level at Chattanooga. Before his time as a Moc, Rozier played high school ball at Sparkman High School in Huntsville where he had 110 receptions for 1,725 yards and 19 touchdowns.
 
Raymond Morales | Kicker/Punter | Bay Springs, Miss. |Coahoma Community College
Morales joins the Delta State special teams unit after playing two seasons up route 61 at Coahoma Community College. As a Maroon Tiger, Morales had 47 punts for 1,638 yards, pinning his opponent inside the 20 12 times.
 
Troy Griffin | Athlete | Indianola, Miss. | Mississippi Delta Community College
Griffin comes to Cleveland after playing two seasons nearby at Mississippi Delta Community College. As a Trojan, Griffin played Quarterback for two seasons where he had thrown for 1,748 yards and had 14 passing TDs. Griffin also ran for 623 yards and six touchdowns in his two seasons in Moorhead.
 
Kamran Anderson | Defensive End | Millbrook, Ala. | Stanhope Elmore High School
Anderson comes to Delta State after playing varsity for three years at Stanhope Elmore High School where he had 147 total tackles, 34 TFLs, 18 Sacks. In his senior season, Anderson earned first team All-River Region, first team All-Region, and first team All-County.
 
Taylor Barber | Defensive End |Gadsden City, Ala. | Gadsden City High School
Barber was a three-year starter at Gadsden City High School where he led the Titans to three-straight 6A AHSAA playoff appearances. In six games his senior season, Barber had 24 tackles, three TFLs, and a sack.
 
Tristan Chavis | Defensive Back | Collins, Miss. | Jefferson Davis High School
Chavis played both sides of the ball as a Wide Receiver and a Cornerback for Jaguars where he earned a spot in the 2024 MAC Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic South Team. Chavis also played Baseball at Jefferson Davis.
 
Ben Davis | Offensive Lineman | Athens, Ala. | Athens High School
Davis joins the Offensive Line at Delta State after playing three varsity seasons for the Golden Eagles. As a Golden Eagle, Davis helped lead his team to back-to-back AHSAA 6A playoff appearances.
 
J.L. Davis | Quarterback | Decatur, Ala. | Austin High School
Davis comes to DSU after a stellar senior season at Austin High School in Decatur, Ala., where he threw for 2,064 passing yards and 24 passing TDs. Davis helped lead the Black Bears to a 7A AHSAA Football Playoffs.
 
Rodriguez "Q" Hussey| Cornerback | Cumming, Ga. | West Forsyth High School
Hussey played on both sides of the ball throughout his high school career at West Forsyth. During his senior season, Hussey helped lead the Wolverines to a 6A GHSA Playoff appearance. Hussey was named a second team All-Region corner after his first season playing the position.
 
Timothy Jones | Defensive Back | Ruleville, Miss. | Ruleville Central High School
Jones comes to Cleveland from right down route 8 after playing as a Wide Receiver and a Strong Safety at nearby Ruleville Central High School in Ruleville. As a Tiger, Jones was also a track athlete where he was a sprinter.
 
Cameron Kelly | Defensive Tackle | Leakesville, Miss. | Greene County High School
Kelly was a Region 8-4A All-22 team honoree for the Wildcats where he helped lead the team to a 4A MHSAA Football Playoffs.
 
Justin Nelson |Wide Receiver | Birmingham, Ala. | Huffman High School
Nelson joins Delta State after being a two-sport athlete at Huffman High School in Birmingham Ala. As A Viking, Nelson played five different positions on the Gridiron. During his senior season, Nelson played as the Quarterback where in seven games played, he had 674 total yards and six touchdowns.
 
Cash O'Callaghan | Defensive Back | Gainesville, Ga. | Gainesville High School
O'Callaghan joins the Statesmen after playing three seasons of varsity football at Gainesville High School. As a Red Elephant, O'Callaghan had 141 total tackles with nine TFLs, three Interceptions and two forced fumbles.
 
Jayson Parker | Defensive Lineman | Monroe, La. | Neville High School
Parker comes to Delta State after being a three-sport athlete at Neville High School in Monroe, La. As a Tiger, Parker helped lead Neville to a LHSAA Division I Non-Select State Semifinal appearance in his senior season.
 
Caydon Smith | Offensive Lineman | Leeds Ala. | Moody High School
Smith comes to DSU as an interior lineman from Moody High School where he played 10 games his senior season. Smith helped lead the Blue Devils to a 5A AHSAA State Championship Appearance in the 2024 season.
 
Daniel Smith | Running Back | Dacula, Ga. | Mill Creek High School
Smith looks to make an impact for the Statesmen ground game this upcoming season. In 11 games his senior season at Mill Creek, Smith earned All-Region 8 6A honors along with being an all-Gwinnett County back. Smith ran for 1,392 yards in 11 games played as a senior.
 
Aaron Taylor | Offensive Lineman | Montgomery, Ala. | Montgomery Catholic High School
Taylor joins the Statesmen after being a part of the 5A AHSAA State Championship winning team at Montgomery Catholic High School. During that State Championship season, Taylor was a part of an Offensive Line that paved way for an offense that averaged 412.6 yards per game.
