BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University Baseball's senior right-handed pitcher Drake Fontenot has earned the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season announced this morning by the conference office.
 
Fontenot pitched a complete game four-hit shutout as the Statesmen defeated West Alabama 6-0 Friday afternoon leading to a three-game sweep in Livingston. The Bossier City native struck out five Tigers and only walked one while allowing a runner to reach scoring position only once throughout the nine innings he pitched
 
The Statesmen Baseball team hits the road this afternoon as they travel to Magnolia, Ark., to take on the Muleriders from Southern Arkansas University. This afternoon's first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. (CDT).
