HOMEWOOD, Ala. – The Delta State University Men's Basketball Team (17-13, 12-10 GSC) fell to the no.1 seeded Chargers from the University of Alabama at Huntsville (29-1, 22-0 GSC) 84-66 Saturday afternoon at the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University.

Chris Terrell scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and collected three steals.
The Statesmen fell behind 9-2 before going on a 10-0 run behind seven points from junior guard
Kolby Horace. Horace scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Delta State despite shooting 26% from the field in the first half, trailed 34-24 at the break. The Statesmen forced a Charger offense that averaged 10 turnovers a game to turn the ball over seven times in the first half.
The Statesmen shot 46% from the field in the second half but the Chargers would shoot 60% from the field as they would pull away in the second half as the Statesmen would be as close as a 10-point deficit.
Delta State won the turnover battle against the Chargers as the green and white forced 15 turnovers compared to only having six turnovers
Chris Terrell finished the season leading the nation with 103 steals.
The Statesmen finished the 2024-25 season with a 17-13 overall record, making their first GSC Championship semifinal appearance since the 2018-19 season.
