Lady Statesmen Fall to Warhawks in Season Finale

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Women's Tennis Team (1-15, 1-7 GSC) fell to the Warhawks from Auburn University at Montgomery (11-6, 5-3 GSC) 5-2 this afternoon at the Cleveland Country Club.
 
The Lady Statesmen earned their points in singles action starting with Elena Palioura winning the no. 1 match in straight sets (6-3, 6-3).
 
In the no. 3 singles Yasmina Mayer earned the second point for the Lady Statesmen in straight sets (6-2, 6-0).
 
The Lady Statesmen will make the post season as they will be the eight seed in the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament. They will take on the no. 1 seeded West Alabama in Montgomery, Ala. On Thursday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m. (CDT).
