VALDOSTA, Ga. — Delta State University Men's Basketball saw career performances from DaCory Porter and
Brendan Braddix on Sunday afternoon, but Valdosta State pulled away in the second half to secure a 90–72 Gulf South Conference victory at The Complex.
Delta State (5–8, 2–6 GSC) opened the contest with confidence as
Je'Marion Westbrook drilled a three-pointer on the opening possession. Porter followed with aggressive drives and perimeter shooting, accounting for much of the early offense as the Statesmen stayed within reach throughout the first 10 minutes.
Despite baskets from
Bryce Clayton and a key three from
Brendan Braddix, the Statesmen trailed at the half 40-33.

- DaCory Porter posted a career-high 28 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and 9-of-10 at the free throw line, while adding eight rebounds and six assists in a complete performance.
- Brendan Braddix recorded a career-high 16 points off the bench, connecting on 7-of-14 shots and providing an offensive spark throughout the afternoon.
- Je'Marion Westbrook contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
- Bryce Clayton finished with 13 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Delta State shot 36.8 percent from the field and went 12-of-13 from the free throw line, while Valdosta State held advantages in points in the paint (54–26) and fast-break scoring (27–13).
The Statesmen will be back in town for the first home game of 2026 as they will host the Trojans from Trevecca Nazarene University Thursday night in Walter Sillers Coliseum.
