CLEVELAND, Miss. – Tickets are on sale and sponsorships are available now for A Night of Champions featuring Kim Mulkey. The third annual event, hosted by the Delta State University Department of Athletics with title sponsor Cannon GMC Buick of Cleveland, is slated for Friday, August 14 at 7 p.m. in Walter Sillers Coliseum.
Mulkey, who won an Olympic Gold Medal in 1984, is the only person in college basketball history – men's or women's – to win national championships as a head coach, assistant coach and a player. She's one of just three coaches (Bobby Knight and Dean Smith) in college basketball history to win national titles as a player and a coach.
As a player, Mulkey played for the Lady Techsters at Louisiana Tech, before returning as an assistant coach for 15 seasons. After a 21-season coaching stint at Baylor University that saw three national championships, Mulkey was named the Head Coach at Louisiana State University on April 25, 2021. A mere two season at the helm, Mulkey led the Tigers to the school's first-ever NCAA women's basketball national championship in 2023.
A Night of Champions ticket options include General Admission Individual, General Admission Couple, and Reserved Table of Eight. Various levels of sponsorship are also available and include tickets, drinks, recognitions, and more. All tickets and sponsorships can be purchased
