Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Statesmen Baseball Team (6-2, 3-0 GSC) will head to Jackson, TN this weekend the play the Bulldogs of Union University (7-4, 2-1 GSC).  

The Gulf South Conference series will begin on Friday at 5:00 PM with a single game at Fesmire Baseball Field. This game will be followed by a double header starting at 12 noon on Saturday. 

Braden Treaster will provide the radio broadcast on the Statesmen Sports Network with Friday's game being on WMJW 107.5 FM. Saturday's broadcast will be on WCLD1490 AM with both pregame shows starting 30 minutes prior to first pitch 

Scouting the Statesmen: 

• After a 2-2 start, the Statesmen have won four straight games with the sweep of #17 Lee University and a walk-off 18-17 victory over Arkansas Monticello. 

• Jacob Hill leads the Statesmen with a .419 batting average, followed by a close Levi Lang and Austin Estes in the upper .300's. Hill has produced 13 hits, one double, one home run, nine RBIs, 14 runs scored, and has stolen seven bases. Lang also has nine RBIs, and Estes has scored 14 times as well. 

• Cade Greer has seven stolen bases as well, followed by Tucker Jones, who is 5-5 on stolen base attempts. 

• Adrian Byrd is looking to continue a dominant start on the mound on Friday. He has thrown 12 innings this year and tallied 19 strikeouts, while posting a 3.00 ERA. 

Scouting the Bulldogs: 

• Union is coming off a big series win over Valdosta State, which included two extra innings games and a double header sweep to clinch the series. The Bulldogs enter this week with a 7-4 overall record after defeating Lane yesterday afternoon 12-8 in Fesmire Field. 

• Elijah Ramsey was just named GSC player of the week, as he leads the Bulldogs with a .447 batting average, including five doubles, two home runs, and 18 RBIs. 

• Jordan Allen and Grant Ross have also connected on two home runs this season. 

• Union's bullpen has helped them win games this year. Cole Lannom and Nathan Myers have appeared in four games this season. Lannom posts a 2.31 ERA, while Myers posts a 3.27 ERA. Each of them have over 10 strikeouts in 11 innings of work.
