Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Statesmen Men's Basketball Team (9-15, 6-13 GSC) will travel to Tennessee for two away conference games this week.  

On Thursday at 6:30 PM, the Statesmen will arrive in Cleveland, TN to play the Flames of Lee University (11-11, 8-10 GSC). Following this game, the Lady Statesmen will travel to Nashville, TN to face the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene (15-9, 10-8 GSC) at 4:00 PM on Saturday.  

The Voice of the Statesmen Michael Gross will provide the broadcast on the Statesmen Sports Radio Network.  

Scouting the Statesmen: 

• The Statesmen enter this weekend with a chance to keep their GSC Conference Tournament hopes alive. The Statesmen are in ninth with a game behind MC who's in eighth place and two games behind Lee, who's in seventh. 

• Dacory Porter leads the Statesmen offensively with 17.7 points per game. Bryce Clayton and Je'Marion Westbrook are also averaging double digit points per game. 

• Elisha Puckett is coming off of a record week, where he dropped a new career-high 26 points vs. Valdosta State, and another 10 points against West Florida. 

• Porter also leads the statesmen with 132 free throws made, 5.7 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game. 

Scouting the Flames: 

• Zach Gray, Tylon Chatman, Ben Ritger, and Willie Walton each average double-digit points for the Flames offensively. 

• Walton has been the main rebounder for the Flames, collecting just under seven boards per game this season.  

• Chatman and Dayveun Anderson lead the Flames in assists, each averaging right at four assists per game. 

Scouting the Trojans: 

• After losing to Delta State in early January, the Trojans have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games.  

• Jax Abernathy leads the Trojans with 17.4 points per game. Fred Bailey has also been a force, averaging over 13 points per game. 

• Bailey also leads the Trojans in rebounds with over 6.3 per game and assists with right under five per game.
