MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The Delta State University men's tennis team dropped a 7–0 decision to Southern Arkansas on Sunday at the Live Oak Tennis Courts, as the Muleriders swept doubles and claimed all six singles courts.
SAU secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
Marti Cerda Castillo and
Valentino Millimaci fell 6–3 on the top court, while
Valentin Greco and
Simon Ojeda were defeated 6–4 at No. 2. Court three went unfinished with DSU trailing 4–2.
In singles play, the Muleriders maintained control across the lineup. Ojeda dropped a 6–1, 6–2 decision at No. 1, and Greco fell 6–2, 7–6 at No. 3.
Alejandro Bravo pushed his match to a third-set tiebreak at No. 5 before falling 6–0, 11–13. SAU also earned straight-set wins at Nos. 2, 4, and 6.
The loss moves Delta State to 5–4 on the season and will be in action this upcoming Friday as they take on the Knights from Lynn University in a neutral site non-conference match in Ridgeland, Miss.
