PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Delta State fell 7–0 to West Florida on Tuesday afternoon at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex, as the Argonauts swept doubles and carried the momentum through all six singles courts.
West Florida secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. At No. 1,
Alejandro Bravo and
Simon Ojeda trailed 6–1 when play was halted.
In singles,
Marti Cerda Castillo dropped a 6–3, 6–1 decision on court one, while
Valentin Greco pushed a tight second set before falling 6–2, 7–6, 7–2 at No. 3. Bravo fell 6–2, 6–2 at No. 5, and Ojeda was defeated 6–4, 6–1 at No. 2.
Juan Diego Alzate dropped a 6–0, 6–1 match at No. 4, and
Valentino Millimaci battled through extended games before falling 4–6, 5–7, 5–7 at No. 6.
Delta State continues Gulf South Conference play next week as they head to Clinton to face against the Choctaws from Mississippi College on Tuesday, March 17
th at 2:00 p.m (CT).
