BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Delta State University women's basketball guard Kennedee Shelton was named to the Gulf South Conference All-Tournament team this week announced by the conference office.
 
Shelton helped lead the Lady Statesmen to their first GSC semifinal appearance since the 2021-22 season. In postseason play, Shelton led all Lady Statesmen scorers averaging 14.5 points per game, shooting 12-21 from the field. The Shreveport native grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game in postseason play as well.
 
In the quarterfinal win against Valdosta State, Shelton posted a team high 15 points shooting 6-9 from the field, grabbed three rebounds and dished out an assists.
 
In the semifinal against Union, Shelton had a near double-double performance scoring 14 points and grabbing eight rebounds and had a steal.
 
Shelton is the first Lady Statesmen to earn GSC All-Tournament honors since Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse earned All-Tournament honors in 2022.
