PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Delta State University men's tennis team struck first by securing the doubles point, but Valdosta State answered with five singles victories to hand the Statesmen a 5–2 loss on Monday at the UWF Tennis Complex.

DSU controlled the doubles courts with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Valentin Greco and Valentino Millimaci earned a 6–3 result on court two, while Juan Diego Alzate and Joaquin Jarochevsky rolled to a 6–1 win at No. 3.

In singles, the Blazers swung the match with straight-set wins on courts one, two, and four. Alejandro Bravo delivered Delta State's lone singles point, defeating Yohann Meunier 6–3, 6–1 at No. 5. Three other courts pushed deep,
including a tight three-setter at No. 6, but VSU closed each one to seal the match.

Delta State moves to 5–5 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow as they will face off against the University of West Florida.
