2010-2011 (Sophomore): Played in 11 games for the Lady Satesmen before going down with a season ending injury...Averaged 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in the 11 games played...Scored season high 11 points and six rebounds against West Georgia.

2009-2010 (Freshman): Played in 29 games with three starts for the Lady Statesmen...Helped lead DSU to fifth-straight NCAA "Sweet 16" finish and 27-4 overall record...Averaged 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in her freshman season...Scored career-high 14 points and pulled down career-high six rebounds in a 69-55 win over Lynn University in the first round of the NCAA South Regional Tournament on March 12, 2010...Handed out a career-high five assists twice - UA-Huntsville (11/28/09) and Southern Arkansas (1/21/10).

Started every game of her high school career, averaging 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals a game for head coach Paul Hayden at Brandon High School…Was a McDonald’s All American nominee and earned a total of six All-Tournament Team honors during her senior season, including the MHSAA South State Tournament Team… Was twice named BHS’s Most Valuable Player…Was the high scorer in the Mississippi-Alabama High School All-Star Game her senior year…Was named to The Clarion Ledger “Dandy Dozen," and All-State teams, and earned All-Metro honors her junior and senior seasons.

PERSONAL: Full name is Joncyee Shaquita Sanders…Born August 22, 1991 in Jackson, Miss….Daughter of Kimberly and Johnathan Sanders II…Has two sisters, Jasmyne Sanders and Jessyka Burch, and two brothers, Johnathan Sanders III and Richard Burch…Twin sister Jasmyne also plays for the Lady Statesmen…Brother Richard was an offensive lineman at Mississippi State and Mississippi Valley State, and was nominated to the all-Southwestern Athletic Conference First Team as a senior in 2005…Majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-dentistry and minoring in sports management.
