Bam Bryant

Bam Bryant is in his third season as an assistant coach on Todd Cooley's staff at Delta State University. Bryant, a former standout wide receiver at the University of Arkansas, will work primarily with the Statesmen wide receivers.

Prior to Delta State, Bryant coached Millsaps College senior wide receiver Kegan Joplin who had 45 catches for 688 yards and eight touchdowns. Joplin earned First Team All-Conference wide receiver and led the conference in receiving yards and touchdowns in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA). Also, sophomore wide receiver Trevor King who had 47 catches for 659 yards and five touchdowns. King earned Second Team All-Conference wide receiver in the (SAA).

The Majors finished with a 7-3 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the SAA, sharing the conference championship. Millsaps offense also, in the top 5 all-time statistical performances in school history in 25 categories.

2011 season, Bryant coached Concord University senior running back Brian Kenny who had 201 carries for 1074 yards and eight touchdowns. Kenny earned First Team All-Conference running back in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC).

The Mountain Lions finished with a 7-4 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the WVIAC, claiming its first conference championship since 1990. Concord also qualified for the NCAA Super Region 1 playoffs, the program's first post-season appearance since 1992.

Prior to coaching at Concord University, Coach Bryant spent the past seven years as the Wide Receivers Coach at Southaven High School in Southaven, Mississippi.

A native of Bartow, Florida, Bryant began his football career at Bartow High School where he was a three sport letterman in football, basketball and track and field.

He went on to compete in football and track and field for two seasons at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa; he twice lettered in football, track & field, and earned the Peacocks’ Most Valuable Athlete award.

In 2000, Bryant transferred to the University of Arkansas, and played wide receiver from 2000-2002 under head coach Houston Nutt.

A lettered and dedicated team player, Bryant helped the Razorbacks win the 2002 SEC Western Division championship, and was part of the Razorbacks teams that played in Las Vegas, Cotton and Music City bowls. His wide receiver coach at Arkansas, James Shiest, said, "As a coach, you wish you had 50 guys like Bam."
