Cal Benson

Cal Benson is in his second season as a graduate assistant on the Delta State University football staff with the responsibilities of coaching the tight end group.
 
In 2015, Benson became a student assistant for Missouri State University. He stayed at Missouri State until 2018. While there he assisted equipment manager with set up and break down of field, assisted quarterbacks coach, provided proper equipment for play. In 2017, Benson was promoted to the top Equipment Manager.

In 2018, Benson became an assistant coach for Quincy University, where he was the film coordinator and wide receivers coach. In 2019, Benson was promoted to equipment coordinator and running backs coach.

Benson played collegiately at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., as a quarterback where he studied physical education. He started his coaching career at CMU as a student assistant to the quarterback’s coach and offensive coordinator. During his time at Central Methodist and Missouri State Cal was an active member of the United States Army Reserves as a Transportation Specialist.

Benson received his bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University in 2018. He is pursuing his master degree in sports management. He is the son of Scott and Maureen Benson of St. Peters, Missouri, and is the oldest of three siblings, his brother Lee and his sister Janelle, both collegiate athletes.
