Cason Bicknell

Cason Bicknell is in his first year as a graduate assistant coach working with the safeties on the Delta State University football staff.
 
Prior to coming to the Delta, Bicknell was the special teams coordinator for Team USA in the 2017 Aztec Bowl and running back and special teams coach for Team USA in the 2018 All-American Bowl XXIII All-Star game.
 
Bicknell was the offensive and special teams coordinator at Lake Erie College in Planesville, Ohio, in 2017. He also shouldered offensive line, strength and conditioning and equipment operation responsibilities.
 
He served as linebackers coach on the East Mississippi Community College staff in 2016, coaching All MACJC, All-Region 23 and NJCAA All-American, Dakota Allen. Allen went on play at Texas Tech, where he was named Second Team All-Big 12.
 
In 2015, Bicknell was a member of the defensive staff at the University of Memphis. During his tenure at UM, he coached Wynton McManis, who went on the play for the San Francisco 49ers and Genard Avery, who was a third-round selection by the Cleveland Browns.
 
Prior to Memphis, Bicknell was an assistant defensive line and special teams coach for Southwest Mississippi Community College where he coached All-MACJC and All-Region 23 standout Omar Bryant, who later continued his career with Los Angeles Rams.
 
Before working at SWCC, Bicknell was a student assistant coach at the University of Southern Mississippi from 2011-2013. In 2011, he assisted with the Golden Eagles running backs while the team won a Conference USA championship and accepted an invitation to play in the Hawaii Bowl. He also worked with USM’s tight ends and special teams in 2012 before moving on to work with quarterbacks during spring drills in 2013.
 
He played two seasons for Jacksonville University where he was a tight end on the 2008 Pioneer League championship squad.
 
Bicknell graduated from of Southern Mississippi in 2013 with a degree in human performance and recreation with an influence in coaching.
 
The Lake City, Fla., native is seeking a Master’s degree in sports management from Delta State.
