Geoff Terry

Geoff Terry is in his third season as a full-time assistant coach on Delta State University football staff in charge of overseeing the Statesmen secondary.

In his first season with the Statesmen, cornerback Junior Faulk was elected AFCA All-American (First-Team), D2Football.com All-American and All-Region (First-Team), Don Hansen Football Gazette All-American and All-Region (Honorable Mention). Additionally, Faulk was selected as a C-Spire Conerly Trophy Finalist, awarded Mississippi’s Best Collegiate Football Player. The Jayess, Miss., native led the GSC and NCAA DII in passes defended (22), pass defended per game (2.2), interceptions per game (1.0), and interceptions (9).

Terry had stints at Wingate University (2016-2018), Alpharetta High School (2013-2015), Duluth High School (2004-2012), and Alfred State College (2003-2004) before Delta State.

During his Wingate tenure, Terry coach First-Team All-SAC players, Davion Washington (CB), Chiris Briozes (Punter), and McLean Robertson (Kicker). Terry also mentored Jaycee Horn (DB/South Carolina), Realus George (RB/ University of Miami) prior to Wingate.

Terry played defensive back for Alfred State College from 1997-1999, where he earned NJCAA All-American honors in 1998 before playing defensive back for the University of Buffalo from 2000-2001.

Following his collegiate playing career, Terry signed a contract with Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2002 and later that year signed a free-agent contract with the New York Jets.

Terry was named Gwinnett Country Assistant Football Coach of the Year in 2014 and Fulton County's Assistant Football Coach of the Year in 2016.

The Buffalo, N.Y., native prepped at McKinley High School from 1993-1997 before signing with Alfred State College.
