Reginald “Reggie” Chambers Jr. enters his second season as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball team under head coach Jim Boone.
Chambers played his collegiate career at Florida Gulf Coast University (2008-10) and West Virginia Wesleyan (2010-12) under Coach Boone. While at Florida Gulf Coast, Chambers was named to the all-freshman team. In his two years at West Virginia Wesleyan, he led his team to back-to-back tournament appearances, including the school’s first national tournament win and a 22-9 overall record.
After the completion of his college career, Chambers played two years of professional basketball in Uruguay and Dominican Republic.
He began his Master’s in business at Liberty University as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball team. His responsibilities included arranging community service projects, assisting in skill development, video coordination, and participating in full practice, while helping develop individual skills.
Prior to his time at Liberty University, the Queens, New York, native was an assistant men’s basketball coach for one season at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming. He was responsible for preparing workouts, creating and implementing a skill development routine for perimeter players, and acted as a strength, skill development and conditioning coordinator on top of recruiting duties.
Chambers has acted as a camp counselor at numerous camps across the country including Dixie State Team Camp, Matt Harping Basketball Camp, University of Utah Basketball Camp, Five Star Basketball Camp, and Delta State’s Basketball Camp.
He is a member of the NCAA Diversity Committee and was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as a student-athlete.
Chambers graduated from Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, Florida in 2008, where he led his basketball team to a 4A State Championship.
The son of Reggie Chamber, Sr. and Stacey Simpson, Chambers is pursuing a Master’s in sport management.
