Julie Church joined the Delta State women’s basketball team as the assistant coach after coming from Lyon College. She served with Head Coach Tracey Stewart-Lange for 16 seasons at Lyon College. From 2006-2022, she helped lead Lyon College to a 355-148 record. Church helped lead the Scots to five regular season American Midwest Conference championships. They won the American Midwest Conference tournament championship in 2016 and 2021.
Church helped the Scots to the NAIA Opening Site Championship in and advancing to the sweet 16. Help Lyon College qualify for 11 consecutive NAIA Division I WBB National Tournaments from 2012 to 2022, advancing to the sweet 16 four times. She helped coach 16 NAIA All-American selections and 15 NAIA Academic All-American selections.
Church was named one of 30 assistant coaches from across all divisions selected to the Next Up program held at the 2019 WBCA convention. She was also director of the physical education department at Lyon College from 2010-2022. She served as the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach from 2006-2016 for the Scots
Church graduated from University of Central Arkansas earning a Masters in Kinesiology in 2006. She graduated from Lyon College with a BA in Mathematics in 2004. She was a four-year member of the women's basketball team and the first scholarship golfer at Lyon. She was inducted into the Lyon College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015
