Gralyn Jones

Gralyn Jones enters his first season working as a graduate assistant in Strength and Conditioning under the direction of head strength and conditioning coach Kevin Rodriguez.

Jones, a Brandon, Miss. native, comes to the #DSUFamily after a trio of stops including Mississippi State University, Clemson University, and the University of Alabama Birmingham. Jones interned with the strength programs in each of theses respective departments, where he assisted with all Olympic sports, including men’s and women’s track & field, soccer, tennis, golf, cross-country, softball, baseball, volleyball, beach volleyball, bowling, and rowing.

Jones also enjoyed a distinguished track and field career as a long jumper, triple jumper and heptathlete at Mississippi State University, where he 
qualified for the NCAA postseason in the 2019 outdoor track and field season with a ninth place finish at the SEC Championships (15.36m).

Jones also finished in the top 12 at the SEC Championships on three other occasions (2019 indoor track and field season, 2018 outdoor track and field season, and 2017 outdoor track and field season). Jones also turned in 21 Top-10 finishes and 10 Top-5 finishes in triple jump events in his career as a Bulldog.

Jones, who attended Northwest Rankin High School, has a younger sister who is a senior and plays basketball at the University of Houston

Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sport and Human Performance at Delta State.
