Wolfgang Mairinger, a senior All-American on the Delta State University Statesmen Swimming & Diving team, garners this week's GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week Award after leading DSU to a 236-208 victory over Ouachita Baptist University. Â
Mairinger, a native of Traun, Austria, powered the Statesmen to the win with a first place finish in the 1000-Freestyle and 500-Freestyle events. Â The speedster hit the boards in 4:54.24 to win the 500-Free event, while posting a 9:59.53 in the 1000-Free. Â
Mairinger and the Statesmen return to action on Friday, Jan. 20, as DSU hosts Henderson State. Â The meet is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start and DSU will be honoring its four seniors. Â Â
