Tais Cotta, a freshman forward for the Lady Statesmen Soccer team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 16 after helping lead DSU to a 5-1 rout of Shorter University Friday at Delta Field. It's the first career honor for Cotta.
Cotta, a Belo Horizonte, Brazil native, scored her lone goal in the 61' off assists by Macey Endris and Kelsey Elling to cap the scoring for the Lady Statesmen. Â Cotta finished with four shots, including one on goal in the victory. Â Â
Cotta has fired eight shots on the season with one goal and two points for coach Paul Babba and the Lady Statesmen. Â
