Seneca Walton, a 6-foot-1 sophomore forward on the Lady Statesmen Basketball team, was named the GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Monday, Nov. 19. Â Monday's honor is the first in her career. Â
The Clarksdale, Miss., native averaged 19 points and eight rebounds as the Lady Statesmen went 1-1 at the Union University Classic over the weekend. Â Walton scored a career-high 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in DSU's 87-72 win over Brevard College, while dropping in 14 points and clearing six boards versus No. 10 Clayton State.
Walton is tied for the team lead in scoring at 17.0 points per game, while averaging 7.0 rebounds through the first three games of the season. Â
