Richard Nash, a junior defensive back on the Statesmen football team, captures the GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week after recording a career-high 17 tackles in No. 9 Delta State's 24-16 loss at West Georgia this past Saturday.
The Macon, Georgia, native led the Statesmen defense with 14 solo stops and three assisted tackles in a tremendous effort at UWG in Carrollton, Georgia. Nash, who had a previous high of nine stops at Florida Tech, currently leads the Statesmen with 42 tackles on the season, including a sack and an interception.
Nash will lead the Statesmen back into action on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the University of West Alabama. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Tigers Stadium in Livingston, Alabama.
