Seneca Walton helped the Lady Statesmen Basketball team to a 2-0 week, defeating West Alabama (72-64) and West Georgia 64-49. The senior, center scored 24 points and collected seven rebounds with an assists. The Clarksdale, Mississippi, native shot 80 percent (8-of-10) from the floor and was two-for-two from 3-point range against UWA. Walton netted 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and had two steals against UWG. She made 13-of-22 shots (59 percent) and was two-for-four from beyond the arc. She finished averaging 26 points and nine rebounds while shooting 65 percent this week.
