Matteo Fraschi, a sophomore member of the Statesmen swimming and diving team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com/Cable One Male Student-Athlete of the Week after leading Delta State to its best finish at the NCAA Championships (11th) since a 10th place finish in 2006.

The Scandicci, Florence, Italy native earned four All-American honors for top-eight finishes (100-Breaststroke, 200-Breaststroke, 200-Medley Relay, 400-Medley Relay). Fraschi broke his own school record in a both breaststroke events.
