Devin Schmidt, a senior guard on the Delta State men's basketball team, has earned the CableOne GoStatesmen.com Athlete of the Week award.

Schmidt scored a team high 33 points in the win against Florida Southern College as well as the team high in the win against Eckerd College over the weekend in the Gulf South Conference/Sunshine State Conference Classic. Schmidt shot 4-for-8 beyond the arc and recorded nine rebounds and three assists against Florida Southern. The next day, he shot 7-for-16 beyond the arc with six rebounds and two assists to close out the classic against Eckerd.
