Alondrea Rush, a sophomore point guard for the Lady Statesmen, has earned CableOne GoStatesmen.com Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season.Â
The Horn Lake, Miss., native averaged 17.5 points per game in splitting a pair of games against Alabama Huntsville and North Alabama, including a 20-point performance at North Alabama.Â
Rush averaged 17.5 points, two rebounds and 1.5 steals and hit three three-pointers in a loss against UAH and a 55-52 road win at UNA.Â
Rush is averaging 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals through the season's first 18 games. Rush is also averaging 34.9 minutes per game this season for Delta State, which ranks her fifth in the Gulf South in that category.Â
The Lady Statesmen now get five consecutive home games, beginning with a game against West Florida on Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 2 will be Organization Night as well at Walter Sillers Coliseum. Delta State campus organizations will compete for a chance at $200/$100 donation prizes and the DSU Spirit Cup.
