This week’s CableOne GoStatesmen.com Male Athlete of the Week is Cameron Monix of the Statesmen basketball team. 

The senior point guard helped DSU to its first win in Gulf South Conference play this season, tallying a career-high 13 points in Delta State's 71-53 victory over Union (Tenn.) on Saturday, Dec. 2.

A Clarksdale, Miss. native, Monix was 2-for-2 from three-point territory and was 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He added two rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes of action in the victory.

The Statesmen return to action on the hardwood on Saturday, Dec.9, when they welcome Arkansas-Monticello to Walter Sillers Coliseum. The game will tip at 4 p.m.
