Kelly Byrd, a junior on the Lady Statesmen softball team, has been named CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week after helping lead DSU to a victory over Mississippi College last weekend.

Byrd finished the weekend, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. Byrd now has 10 home runs, which ranks fourth in the GSC and ninth in DSU single season history.
