Delta State University Lady Statesmen basketball player Zyaire Ewing was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after the Green and White split a pair of games with Union (Tenn.).
In the first game against the Lady Bulldogs, Ewing did a little bit of everything for the Lady Statesmen. She posted 22 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals as DSU grabbed its first win of the season.
In game two, Ewing posted her fifth consecutive double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Ewing averaged 18.5 points per game, 13 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per contest for the weekend.
Delta State travels to Huntsville, Ala. to take on the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Friday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. The Lady Statesmen and Lady Chargers will then face off again on Saturday, Jan. 16. at 3 p.m.
