Delta State University basketball player Michael Motley was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after he scored a career-high 29 points in an 82-78 win over Christian Brothers over the weekend. 

Motley, a Buffalo, N.Y. native, scored a career-high 29 points and went 8-for-16 from the field and 11-for-14 from the free throw line as DSU knocked off CBU 82-78 on Saturday, Feb. 6. He also tallied six rebounds and was 8-of-16 from the floor. 

In Friday’s 68-67 win over CBU, Motley had nine points, nine rebounds, and six assists in 38 minutes for the Statesmen. 

Delta State returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. as they travel to Huntsville, Ala. to take on the No. 11 UAH Chargers.
