Tim Williams Jr. was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athlete of the Week after his performance this past weekend for the Statesmen football team. 

Williams Jr. registered 10 total tackles for the Delta State defense against the Crusaders. He also tallied 1.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks for DSU.

The Greenville, Miss. native set a new career-high with six solo tackles and tied his career-high with four assisted tackles. Williams Jr. is second on the team in tackles-for-loss with 6.5 and ranks third in the GSC in that category.

Williams Jr. also leads the team in sacks with 6.5 and also leads the GSC in that category.

Delta State is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23, as the Statesmen travel to Livingston, Ala. to take on the No. 10 University of West Alabama Tigers at Tiger Stadium at 4 p.m.
