HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- Terrible conditions plagued the field Friday afternoon as the Statesmen close out the 2008 season with a 1-0 loss to Alabama-Huntsville at Charger Field. 

The Statesmen close out the season on three consecutive losses finishing with a an 8-9-1 record, 1-5 in the GSC and still winless all-time versus the Chargers. UAH earns only their second win on the year and improve to 2-10-3, 1-2-2 in GSC play. 

The teams were tied after a scoreless first that looked to go either way. The Statesmen tallied five shot , just one on goal to the Chargers eight. Bret Hughson scored the game winner just three minutes into the second half to give the home team a much needed win. 

Senior keeper Trey Jones finished with five saves in the loss for the Statesmen. 

Despite having the best start in the programs short history and setting season and career records along the way, the Statesmen can look forward to the spring and reset for next season
