CLEVELAND - The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen swimming and diving teams only lost one event to Rhodes in route to a 125-68 Lady Statesmen win and a 119-67 triumph for the Statesmen over Rhodes College.
Head coach Brian Hein was very proud of the continual work put in by the squads.
"Both Teams swam well today. They continued to work the 'little things' and raced hard to the wall. Our swimmers; although many were swimming 'off races', raced and competed how they were expected to."
Those "off races" are events that the swimmers do not traditional participate in.
Justin Ingvoldstad in an 'off race for him claimed first in the 100 backstroke.
The Statesmen won 12 of the 13 races they swam.
Cameron Weidele won the 50 freestyle in a excellent time of 21.90 and also won the 500 freestyle with a dramatic come from behind win over teammate Dalton Silva.
George Huber won his first collegiate race ever in the 100 breaststroke.

Austin Bennett,
Christian Barrett and Steven Ingvoldstad finished the meet by winning the 200 freestyle relay.
In the 200 medley relay, the Statesmen finished one, two and three led by a first place time of 1:21.98 by
Justin Ingvoldstad,
George Huber,
Matt Duhon and
Matt Miller.
The Lady Statesmen won all 13 races competed. The Lady Statesmen had a strong performance from their freshman class, winning six races. Led by
Piper Marshburn, who was able to break the 2:00 for the first time in her swimming career in the 200 freestyle. She also claimed a victory in the 100 freestyle.
Another freshman,
Hannah Boudreaux also won the 100 and 200 butterfly. Topping all of that off,
Calla Kingery and
Victoria Culliver claimed their first collegiate victories. Kingery, winning the 400 Individual Medley and Culliver grabbing the 50 freestyle.
The Lady Statesmen also took one, two and three in the 200 medley relay.
Caitlin Dudley,
Mary Katherine Waddell, Samantha Fajardo and
Victoria Culliver finished first with a time of 1:57.85.
The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen will hit the pool again November 21st in Arkadelphia, Ark. for a 1 pm meet against Ouachita Baptist. Results will be posted on Gostatesmen.com
