Edie Oliver (18-11) was solid in the circle for the Lady Statesmen (27-23, 15-15 GSC), keeping Southern Arkansas (8-33, 7-19 GSC) scoreless on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout in the game one win.
Senior
Brittany Tillery made sure that she wasn't a part of the first Delta State team to miss the GSC Tournament when she slapped a pitch toward second base and made it to second on an error during an intentional walk attempt, allowing Kimbo Seale to score from second for the game's first run in the top of the fifth inning.
Tillery gave the Lady Statesmen an insurance run in the top of the seventh with a line-drive home run to left field.

The Lady Statesmen struck first in the second game when
