CLEVELAND - The Delta State Statesmen (9-3, 0-0 GSC) will open up Gulf South Conference play this Saturday, Jan. 9 against the Tigers (4-9) of Ouachita Baptist University. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Statesmen, who entered the season picked to win the GSC West Division, have played well of late, winning seven out of their last eight games on the hardwood - including four straight.
The green-and-white will be meeting the Tigers for the 38th time in program history. DSU leads the all-time series 27-10, including a series sweep last season. The Statesmen defeated OBU 84-73 at Sillers Coliseum, while claiming a 77-70 road win at Vining Arena.
