MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Christian Brothers Buccaneers shot 57 percent from the field in the second half and defeated the visiting Delta State Statesmen 68-55 on Saturday.

Scott Dennis led Christian Brothers (15-8, 5-5 Gulf South Conference) with 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Joe McCray led the Statesmen (17-5, 8-2 GSC) with 14 points. Eric Spencer came off the bench to score 13 points for Delta State.

CBU held the Statesmen to 39 percent shooting (18-of-46) from the field.

The Statesmen return to action Thursday when they travel to Southern Arkansas. Tipoff from Magnolia, Ark. is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
