No. 8 Lady Statesmen seeded No. 2 at NCAA South Regional; DSU to face No. 7 Lynn

CLEVELAND -
The No. 8 Lady Statesmen (25-3) of Delta State University received the No. 2 seed in the NCAA South Region Tournament and will face No. 7 seed Lynn University (16-10), champions of the Sunshine State Conference, in the regional's first round.  Arkansas Tech, who defeated the Lady Statesmen 75-73 in double overtime in Sunday's Gulf South Conference Championship game, will serve as host for both the men's and women's regionals. 

The Lady Statesmen/Lady Knights winner will play the winner of the Fort Valley State (26-2) versus Valdosta State (18-8) winner in the regional semifinals. 

On the other side of the bracket, top seed Arkansas Tech (28-2) will square off with Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Benedict (21-8).  The ATU/BC winner will face the Tampa (22-4) versus Barry (18-8) in the regional semifinals.

The NCAA South Region Tournament dates have also been changed to allow Arkansas Tech to host both regionals.  The women's first round will take place on Friday, March 12 with the semifinals set for Sunday, March 14.  The South Region championship game is slated for Tuesday, March 16.
