Statesmen give up two second half goals in loss to Ouachita Baptist

CLEVELAND-For nearly 60 minutes, the Delta State University soccer team was deadlocked at 0-0 with Ouachita Baptist, but two late goals proved to be the difference, as the Tigers defeated DSU 2-0 at Delta Field on Friday.

OBU (5-2-1, 1-0) entered the contest at No. 7 in the NCAA South Region, for the first time in school history, and the Tigers proved worthy of their success.

Sergiu Postolache opened the scoring in the 61st minute, and Rizvan Ceka sealed the deal only seven minutes later.

The Statesmen (2-6, 0-1) managed only two shots on goal, compared to eight for the Tigers.

Delta State will look for its first GSC victory in 2010 on Sunday, as they will take on the Harding Bisons.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
