Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Florida Southern College Lady Mocs (2-0) pulled out a 61-60 victory over the No. 8 ranked Lady Statesmen (1-1) of Delta State University, snapping a 64-game home win streak for DSU in the process. It's the first loss for DSU at home since a 52-49 loss to Southern Arkansas on Jan. 18, 2007.
The first half belong to Florida Southern, as the Lady Mocs raced out to a 41-27 lead at the break led by Michaela Hawley's 12 points and five assists.
The Lady Mocs took advantage of 12 Lady Statesmen turnovers to shoot 50 percent from the floor (16-of-32). DSU shot 44 percent on 11-of-25 attempts, but failed to protect the glass as FSC out-rebounded the green-and-white 20-12.
Brooke Rhodes paced the Lady Statesmen with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-2 from the line.
After spending the first 19 minutes of the half battling back, the Lady Statesmen cut the Lady Mocs lead to one with 33.7 seconds remaining in the game on a slashing jumper by junior guard

After forcing a missed shot by Hawley,
Denesha Henderson's jumper at the buzzer wouldn't fall, preserving the FSC win.
The Lady Mocs placed three players in double figures, led by All-Tournament Team member Michaela Hawley's 22 points and eight rebounds. Morgan Lamberg chipped in 14 points and nine boards, while Taylor Maldonado added 10 points.
Veronica Walker, who was named Lloyd Clark Classic MVP, led the Lady Statesmen and all scorers with 23 points and eight rebounds. All-Tournament Team selection
Brooke Rhodes finished with 22 points and six rebounds.
Ann Shelby Davis dropped in nine points off the bench.
The Lady Statesmen return to the court on Thursday, Nov. 17 at Tougaloo College. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Jackson at Tougaloo's HPER Center.
