CLEVELAND - In one of their more complete matches of the year, the No. 47 Delta State University Statesmen (3-6, 2-0 GSC) claimed a 7-2 victory over the visiting Harding University Bisons (15-2, 1-1 GSC) Tuesday at University Courts.  The victory keeps the Statesmen within one game of GSC West Division leading Ouachita Baptist.  DSU and OBU will meet on Thursday to decide the West title.

Delta State's Josselin Polosse, ranked No. 47 nationally, had to go three sets to defeat Alex Ford 6-0, 4-6 and 6-1, but the victory seemed to spark the Statesmen during singles play.  

Florian Mondoloni, Cristian Serrano-Garcia, Guillaume Lacour and Sebastien Rajaonary all claimed singles victories for the Statesmen. 

In doubles action, Polosse and Mondoloni teamed to defeat Henrique Ruiz and Ford in a hotly contest match 9-8.  Serrano-Garcia and Marco Heinzleman also claimed No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 win over Germans Uglovs and Adam Edwards. 

The Statesmen will make a run at the West Division title on Thursday in Lake Village, Ark., as DSU takes on Ouachita Baptist at 1 p.m.
