Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – A pair of second half goals from
Jaxon Lambert tied the game after 68 minutes of action, but the Lee Flames scored the final goal of the game in the 74th minute to pick up the road victory.
Lee would pick up the lone goal of the first half as Eli Price would score on
Milos Boskovic in the 18th minute.
Five minutes into the second half the visiting team held a 2-0 lead.
Jaxon Lambert took matters into his hands when he lined up for a free kick in the 59th minute and was able to bend it around the wall and score on Tom Halsall.
Lambert would be back at it again when he would be fouled inside the box at the 67:41 mark, setting up a penalty kick situation. Lambert would not disappoint when he tied the game with his second goal of the game, his first two goals of the season.
Lee would pick up the third goal of the game when Chevron Roberts scored his second goal of the game in the 74th minute.
Delta State was called for 21 fouls, where Lee was flagged for just 12. The Statesmen held the 10-9 advantage in shots, with both teams tallying four shots on goal.
Boskovic, one of many seniors honored in a pre-game ceremony for Senior Day, made one save in his second-to-last game at Delta Field.
The Statesmen are on the road for the next two Gulf South Conference games before returning home one last time on Oct. 30 to host the Christian Brothers Bucs.
